Pregnancy after miscarriage

“I went to Christine after experiencing a miscarriage the year before.  My doctors would not say why I had a miscarriage, but they did diagnose me with low progesterone during that pregnancy.  Despite taking progesterone supplements for a few months when trying again, I was not getting pregnant right away like I did the first time.  I met with Christine, and she had me chart my temperatures which did in fact confirm some hormone imbalances.  After seeing Christine for two months for acupuncture and taking prescribed herbs from her, I am happy to say I got pregnant again and all is going great.  I am 15 weeks along, and I firmly believe that my treatment through Christine was a strong factor in having a successful pregnancy this time around.”

Put down those melon balls!

Grassy_field
Spring is almost here! The snow is melting revealing the dormant grass that lay beneath it. After this winter, brown grass never looked so good. But with spring comes spring allergies. For allergy sufferers, the end of winter and the start of spring isn't necessarily a time to look forward to. But, if you treat yourself right you can greatly reduce your symptoms and actually enjoy this time of year!

I always say it, food is medicine! What you eat affects you in some way. By avoiding certain foods, you can greatly reduce your symptoms. In an earlier blog, I mentioned a list of foods and I want to bring them up again. I think this is a good list:

Prepping for pregnancy

birth_control

Are you thinking of having a bundle of joy any time soon? If so, it is important to take care of yourself now so that you and baby are healthy and happy! Many times, people come off their birth control pills/patch/ring expecting to conceive right away. If not then, then at least in the few months that follow. Some women are fortunate enough to have no issues making the transition from hormonal birth control to doing everything on their own smoothly and soundly. Others however need a little more adjustment time. This is actually an important time to have because bringing your body into balance sometimes takes time.

Stress can lead to heart disease in women

Women_and_heart
Women tend to be natural care givers which often gets misconstrued with "responsible for everything on earth".  Between children, relationships, career, home, errands and so on, it is hard to find that balance that brings us out of that frenzied state, and into our own state of relaxation.  Heart disease is the number one killer among women.  It is important to remember that taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of everyone and everything else!

I wanted to just remind everyone that if you have Health Partners or BCBS, as of the 1st of the calendar year, your acupuncture coverage starts over.  You get a fresh 12.  If you haven't had acupuncture before, this is a good time to try it out.

A few examples of covered conditions are: headaches and migraines, joint pain, back pain, premenstrual syndromes, and nausea.  Call today to see if your condition or symptoms are covered.

Last week I talked about adrenal fatigue and how it can affect you. This week I want to reiterate that taking care of yourself is so important! I know it is a busy time of year, but find the time to take care of yourself. Find some time to relax and enjoy it! You don't want to burn yourself out, get sick, go through the holidays and then start a new year feeling crummy.

Go,go,go!

Stress
Its official, its nearing the end of the year. With that comes traveling, many get togethers, cooking and over eating, trying to wrap things up and juggling work and family. Stress is an understatement! For many of us who already have one million things to do, the end of the year just means more stress. If we don't take a break and we continue with the go, go, go lifestyle, we can end up paying the price. Our body aches, we are fatigued and we just can't seem to recoup. It is important to be able to take a break because if we don't, we risk “adrenal fatigue”. If you haven't heard of this condition, you will. Its becoming more and more of an issue with our high stress lifestyle.

Shoulder pain

I went to see Christine after I hurt my shoulder playing volleyball. It hurt constantly and I was having trouble even lifting my arm up. The first time I got acupuncture the pain decreased a lot and after a couple more visits during the following week I was able to move my arm pain free. Thanks Christine!

Shoulder pain

I was skeptical about Acupuncture at first. I didn't really understand how it worked, or if it worked at all. But I decided I would give it a try. I saw Christine for shoulder pain that had been bothering me for a few weeks. After the first treatment, I could really tell a difference. I came in for one follow up treatment and my shoulder pain had completely gone away. Since then I have seen her for different issues like headaches, acid reflux, and even hiccups! Every time I get a treatment I am amazed at how effective it is and how well I feel.
